Blazing Trails is led by Jane Jewitt, associate director of the Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture. She is also the chair of FIT, a subcommittee of the Food Safety and Defense Task Force that was created to help answer questions and assist Food Business Owners in navigating Minnesota’s food licensing and regulations. I was invited to become a member of this committee and it has been very interesting. There are so many businesses that consist of multiple layers and sometimes figuring out what kind of license you need can be a challenge. That’s where FIT comes in.
